– I Bricconcello present a very charming and particular programme with some of the most important 20th century art songs on poems by Gabriele D’Annunzio, celebrating the celebrated poet’s 150th birth anniversay  (1863-2013). The music program includes some famous art songs such as Quattro canzoni d’Amaranta and A’ Vucchella by Francesco Paolo Tosti or I Pastori by Ildebrando Pizzetti, but also a premiere: the never before performed manuscript of Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco‘s La sera fiesolana for voice, cello and piano, confronting the better known version odf the same text by Alfredo Casella, both composed in 1923. Among other artist, Ottorino Respighi, with a beautiful poem from Poema Paradisiaco, and Gian Francesco Malipiero with his beautiful I Sonetti delle Fate. Some instrumental music for cello and piano by Alfredo Piatti and Giuseppe Martucci will present the melodic inspiration springing from the poetical universe of the great Italian poet.
An introduction by Giordano Bruno Guerri, director of the Vittoriale,will guide the audience to discover Gabriele D’Annunzio’s art and life.
